PLeeasssee answer!! I am going to Paris in March…where else can i go that is only a train ride away?
OK my mom and I are going to Paris to visit friends, and we have already been there twice so I want to know where we could go/what we could do outside of Paris. We will only be there a week so we are kinda limited to the places we can go. A five hour train ride would be the longest we would want to travel since we will probably only be staying overnight, and we don’t want to spend too much time traveling to our destinations. If you know of somewhere in Germany, Switzerland, Holland…or even somewhere else in France that is DIFFERENT than Paris and WORTH traveling for please let me know. We are down for anything interesting and fun as long as its somewhere within 5 hours and worth our time.
Also, could someone please point me in the direction of a website where i can buy train tickets for a reasonable price in Europe?

its got everything you need to know.
I would suggest the concentration camps in Germany and Austria (they are truly moving) and the ice caves on Mt. Titilus in Switzerland.
Have a great time!
With the fast trains in France there are many towns within the five hour limit, and most or all are worth visiting.
Just pick the one you like best.
If you can read French this site is the best:

If you book early you can get very good deals, like the south of France for no more than €30 one way, so €60 return.
In March I would go for either a city destination, or wintersport in Switzerland or the French alps, and as I do not do wintersports, I can not help you with those.
Brussels, Cologne, London, or in France, Lille, Dieppe, Amiens, Reims, Lyon to name a few I have been. I found all of those worth visiting, but I can not guess if you do to.
If you pick out one city, google information about it and decide on that.
There are lots of French towns different from Paris to be reached within a 5 hour travel distance by train. France has a well developed fast track train system which allows to reach the coast of the Mediterranean Sea in just a few minutes more than three hours. Marseille and other town in southern France are complete different from Paris. If you want to explore some other European countries you will have the choice of six different countries to be reached from Paris on the 5 hour limit. The travel duration is added as (hours:minutes) in parenthesis. The towns and countries are:
Amsterdam, The Netherlands (4:11)
Brussels, Belgium (1:22)
Cologne, Germany (3:50)
Geneva, Switzerland (3:25)
London, United Kingdom (2:15)
Luxembourg, Luxembourg (2:18)
